PURPOSE STATEMENT

Wilderness is looking for a passionate and experienced leader with a sound knowledge of modern and trending food cultures. A track record of food training and food experiences that exceeds guest expectations.  Responsible for the overall training of  Chefs and Food and Beverage Management in Wilderness Namibia.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Menu Planning and Creation
• Training
• Cost control
• Kitchen Structure
• Guest Feedback and Management
• Sourcing Guidance
• Food audits and reporting
• Food presentation  
• Compiling of food experience standards
• Food impact management
• Administrative functions          

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

• Bachelor Degree or higher preferred in Culinary Arts
• At least 5 years relevant Food service experience
• Experience in lodge food service is an advantage
• Passionate about food and service
• Proficient in written and spoken English and another language will be an advantage
• Outstanding leadership and management skills
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent administrative and interpersonal skills
• Valid Driver’s license and a First Aid Certificate
• Willing to travel extensively in our camps – (70% of the time)
