Job Description
The Seamstress / Uniform Attendant is responsible for overseeing the appearance and functionality of the uniform room. This position would require the ability and knowledge to mend and alter garments according to staff and / or guest needs. Ensuring the sewing machine is in good working order.
Replace buttons, zippers, pockets, and linings.
Adding padding and shaping materials to garment.
Modifying garment styles based on precise specifications provided.
Accurate measuring using tape measures to ensure proper fit of garments
Altering or repairing garments, which include hemming, mending, lengthening, as well as taking in and letting out seams.
Garment fittings to determine how the alterations should be done.
Labeling garments and recording the alterations required.
Communicating with staff members or guests to determine their specifications, needs, and preferences.
Using iron or pressing machine to erase the creases on garments.
Use of a serger machine when applicable.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Proven sewing experience.
Knowledge of various fabrics and sewing techniques.
The ability to work under time constraints.
Good hand-eye coordination.
The ability to safely operate a sewing machine.
Physical Requirements:
Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Extended sitting at times.

Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
Cooperate with all departments by being a great team player.
Comply with Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
Perform other duties as requested by management.

Hourly Wage: Intro rate at $29.65 wage after 90-day probationary period at $32.95
