Summary
The Moorings and Sunsail are currently recruiting a Base Technician to work in Agana, Croatia. Primary duties will centre around the yachts, the base, and ports of call. Working hours vary, and you MUST be flexible to operational requirements. You are required at times to assist with flotilla duties. At the beginning and end of the season, you may be asked to carry out fleet re-fit/lay-up. The yachts are prepared for the upcoming season or furloughed for winter during these periods. It includes painting, cleaning, repairs, and anything else required to prepare the yacht for the season or placed under furlough.
What you will be doing
- Completing turnaround service checks, yacht preparation and deck washing
- Briefing clients on the yacht's systems and safety equipment
- Maintenance and repairs to yacht equipment
- Proactive and preventative daily maintenance checks and repairs.
- Engine servicing, oil and filter checks/changes
- Maintenance of outboards for tenders
- Emergency callouts for breakdowns on any of the fleet
- Ensuring the safety of all clients, including safety briefings
- Assisting clients with queries and problems
- Assisting with the general running of the base
- Any other duties as directed by the Base Manager
What we are looking for
- Experience maintaining diesel engines and 2 & 4 stroke outboard engines
- A clear understanding of 12V DC electrical systems
- A knowledge and enthusiasm to learn about marine plumbing systems.
- Practically minded-with an ability to solve problems
- Ability to work through pressurised conditions and with time constraints
- Experience in a customer-orientated environment
- Sociable and positive personality
- Committed to their team
- Yacht sailing experience is desirable but not essential
