Job Description

What you will be doing:

Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions
Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods
Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
Other duties as assigned
Hourly rate of $20.21 to 23.10

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

A minimum of one (1) year recent experience (in the last five years) in a food and beverage related position in a quality establishment
Serving It Right and Food Safe certificates
Excellent organizational skills and ability to thrive in a busy environment
A team player with proven success in relationship building
A commitment to provide excellent service and exceeding expectations
Completely fluent English language skills, both written and verbal
Strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude
Professional and impeccable grooming and presentation
Barista knowledge would be an asset
For internal candidates: 1 year experience as Banquet Porter (within the last 5 years) at the Empress as outlined in F&B progression plan.

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

Constant standing and walking
Frequent bending and kneeling
Constant carrying and lifting up to 20lbs
Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
